FURTHER NOTES
- Data additions can be made at any time here. Those of you, whose names are not appearing here, can always join the big family, which can only delight everyone concerned, because it would be a nice token of brotherhood, togetherness and solidarity.
- Even if some of you do not believe much in the importance of a family tree, it is worth remembering that one day your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren may feel the need to know their distant origins. Knowing that we belong to a particular family, discovering or rediscovering our roots and hang to them is absolutely necessary to the balance, among other things, of every human being. Please think for a moment of abandoned children or of those born anonymously, to understand their suffering and despair, when they start searching for their origins.
- The setting up of this site has been a time-consuming and arduous task. One relative initially did his bit and brought a stone to the pile, but given the complexity and the huge weight of the task, it was necessary to appeal to further helping hands. Thus, we were able to benefit from the expertise and know-how of William Arthur, a computer engineer from the team of our relative, Harijaona RAMANANTSOA.
Our deepest gratitude goes to both of them.
- Without the generous and patient collaboration of Hanitra RAMANANTSOA, the spouse of Willy RAZAFIMBELO, we would not have had a number of pictures of our deceased loved ones. Hanitra had had more than once to knock on the doors to her modest "Ali Baba's Cave" to dig out the yellowish, old pictures left by our ancestors. A big wholehearted thank-you to Hanitra !
- FERNAND ROQUES, (29.03.1928-19.07.1999), Clarice Rafarasoa's second husband, is buried at the Carré Militaire of Anjanahary Cimetery. Death Certificate N°351 issued by the 5th Arrondissement of Antananarivo on 20th July, 1999. Fernand Louis Philippe Roques was a native of Albi, France. He was the son of Fernand Henri Philippe Roques and Eugénie Rosa Anna Noell.
- Regarding our ancestral house of Tsaralalana, it is worth noting that this house is over 100 years old. It is therefore a precious heritage that ought to be preserved at all costs. For that purpose, it should be given the greatest attention, love and respect. May it have a very long life!
Here is another view of this ancestral house and its surroundings taken in 1980.
- Due to very limited space, it is impossible to take a step back and get a close up shot of the Anjanahary tomb, where Hélène RAVONIARISOA and Ronsard ANDRIAMANANA are buried. We should make do with the sight of the fence made on the initiative of the nearby school's owner. Please note that the present fence is definitely much nicer than the previous one.
- Guy Gérard ANDRIAMANANA was buried in the tomb of his wife's family at Zafimbazaha-Dilambato. Jocelyne and myself had opted at the time for that solution, because we had mistakenly thought that there was no more room left in the Faravohitra Avaratra ancestral tomb.
A new tomb for Denis ANDRIAMANANA's family will sooner or later be built. Guy will be transferred there, so will Denis, Clarice and Nadia, the daughter of Guy and Louisette. Eliane-Brigitte and Jean-Mamy will both remain in the Anjanahary tomb, because we do not know where exactly they are placed in the tomb and the seniors who knew it are all dead.
- Thanks to Roger RAMANALY we have been able to get a pîcture of Ignace RAMANALY, brother of Hélène RAVONIARISOA, our grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. The house where Ignace RAMANALY used to live is not even three minutes' walk from Ronsard and Hélène's tomb at Anjanahary. ______________________________________________

The black and white picture shows a partial view of the garden of the former home of Denis Andriamanana's family at Ampandrianomby, around 1955. Sadly enough, we do not have a full picture of the house of those days. It's been a long time since the whole family left it. However, the coloured picture shows the present aspect of the same house, which is still its old self. It has still preserved the same matchless charm and beauty it has always had and it will certainly plunge us again into the sweet and tender years of our childhood, next to our dear dad and dear mom, Denis and Clarice. They were the very personification of the Malagasy hospitality, always willing to share their meals and their home, even in difficult times. It was the Home of God, where each and everyone knew they were always welcome at any time.
